Building Australia’s green fertiliser industry

Who We Are

Currently, there is a global shortage in fertiliser leading to subsequent price increases, which are threatening the supply chain for Australian farmers. Over 90% of urea is currently imported, with Western Australia in particular depending on international imports of urea ammonium nitrate.

To combat this, H2Gro was established with the ambitions of building a homegrown green fertiliser industry to ensure sovereignty over the nation’s food & agriculture supply.

The company intends to fill this large gap in the market by becoming Australia’s first industrial manufacturer of green urea fertiliser, which will help provide reliable supply for the Australian $5.3b fertiliser industry and lower the current reliance on importing carbon intensive fertiliser from overseas manufacturers.

Western Australian farmers produce over 10 million tonnes of waste biomass every year, much of which is not utilised commercially.

Our Technology

CAC-H2 is H2Gro’s technology partner and and has a global reputation for developing state-of-the-art green hydrogen, green ammonia, and low carbon future fuel energy plants across the world.

CAC-H2 will conduct the initial feasibility study to provide H2Gro with a platform to produce large volumes of green urea.

Following this, the company will lead the development of a production facility aiming to produce 150,000 tonnes of green urea fertiliser per annum along with revenue generating by-products — biochar, wood vinegar carbon credits and electrical power.
